So I finished my final exams and I have utterly nothing to do. This is amazing. I haven’t had free time in.. years. I can now watch tv/movies, read, sleep with out it being an act of procrastination.

This genre is usually all about social commentaries, what happens when the world ends, when technology breaks down, when everything is possible because of science, and how all of that questions the human condition or, in some cases, defines what the human condition actually is. lolwhat. I mean. Space is pretty. I like stars. Dinosaurs rarrr. But here’s a starter kit for this awesome film genre. (
That is, these movies kick-started my own interest so my bad if The Wrath of Khan, Tron, or The Terminator aren’t in here.ETA: Uh, the ‘starter kit’ evolved a little. It includes some science-fiction classics (originals of recently released remakes), movies that started long-standing franchises, as well as contemporary ~masterpieces~. And Galaxy Quest. “He fucking shot me!” Nathan all but screamed it, fingers digging into the raw gunshot wound on his side as he desperately attempted to keep the blood in. “Jesus Christ, you actually shot me!”
“Oy, you focking American wankah!” Dean’s attention was momentarily distracted from the bleeding teenager on the ground, his eyes flickering to the blonde girl across the room. Kelly flicked him off, letting Simon go to tend to Nathan before turning her attention fully on Dean. “Yeah, I’m talkin’ to ya! The fock are you shootin’ ‘im for?”
“Sam, I can’t understand her,” Dean muttered to his brother, giving Kelly a puzzled look before glancing back down at Nathan, who was whining on the ground as Simon pushed down on the wound in his side. “Kid, what the hell are you crying about, you’re gonna come back.”
“That doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt!” Nathan shot Dean a glare, grabbing Simon’s sleeve and heaving his chest dramatically. “Barry, when I die, take care of Kelly.”
“You’ll come back to life,” Simon said, frowning and pulling Nathan’s shirt up slightly. “Plus you’re not going to die. It barely skimmed you.”
Nathan froze, looking down and then shoving Simon off of him. “I knew that.”
Simon rolled his eyes, standing up and shooting Dean and Sam a meek look before Curtis spoke, looking at Dean and Sam incredulously. “Why’re you guys even here?”
“We kinda need you guys. The apocalypse is going down and it looks like you can help.”
